The library offers a range of reading challenges available to children between the ages of 0-14.

	CHALLENGE	AGES	ABOUT
	1,000 Books Before Kindergarten	0 - 5	Read 1,000 books before starting kindergarten.
	100 Books Before High School	3rd - 8th Grade	This ongoing reading challenge is open to anyone between 3rd - 8th grade. The goal is to read 100 books before entering high school.
	Genre Reading Challenge	3rd - 8th Grade	This is a yearly reading challenge that is open to anyone between 3rd - 8th grade that can be done at anytime in between the accepted grades.

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten ongoing program encourages you to read 1,000 books to your child before they enter kindergarten.

Just read 3 books a day for 1 year and it will add up to over 1,000 books.

The guidelines are simple:

     • When you sign-up, you will receive a book log for 100 books.
     • Read a book (any book) to your child(ren).
     • Every time you finish a book, record the book on the book log, or on Beanstack (yes, you can repeat books).
     • Once you have completed your book log, come into the library to get the next book log.
     • At certain levels, you will be able to collect prizes.

This program has no end date except when your child(ren) enters kindergarten.

** If you have already started our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program in-person, we encourage you to reach out to our Youth Librarians to help figure out where your child was previously at and continue their progress.
