Youth Summer Reading Club
June 1 - July 31
The theme is HAVE BOOK - WILL TRAVEL for ages birth to age 14. Read for fun and get prizes after reaching an age appropriate goal. Children that reach their goal will receive a book of their choice and a 'travel' prize. Grand prizes will be drawn from those who finish. Register at the Youth Reference Desk. The first 100 to register will receive movie tickets to Classic Cinemas in Fox Lake. Grand prizes will include bikes. Other prizes include a wagon, motorized toy vehicles, gift cards, and more! (R)
Round Lake Police Crime Prevention Program for Youth & Puppet Program (All ages)
Mondays 1:00 p.m.
June 3, 10, 17, 24 • July 1, 8, 15, 22
Attend special youth safety programs to be held throughout the summer. The Round Lake Police Officers and the Police Department Puppets will share ideas and talk about vandalism, theft, fire and personal safety, illegal street gangs, stranger danger, and substance and drug abuse. Alien Antics Storytime (Ages 5-8)

Do aliens exist? In these fun stories they do! Join us for some exciting tales about aliens and outer space. (R)
Plant Pals (Ages 5-9)

Join us for this annual planting event as we plant flowers in the library's courtyard. Everyone receives a flowering plant for their garden. Wear old clothes and bring a small shovel or trowel. Meet at the Youth Reference Desk. (R)

Veggie Garden Plantorama (Ages 5-9)

Help us create a vegetable garden in front of the library. We will be planting tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, sunflowers and much more! Wear old clothes and bring a small shovel or trowel so you can dig in the soil. Meet at the Youth Reference Desk. (R)

Rronaldo, Youth Services' moose mascot, is inviting you to spend some time listening to stories with him about travel, camping and other fun summer adventures. A camping craft and snack will be part of this travelogue. (R)

Do you have an iPad that you can bring to the library? Join us and learn how to narrate and animate your characters in order to tell a story. After the scene is complete, music can be added to compliment your story. Make sure that you bring your iPad! (R)
